Transitions

There comes a time in every photographer’s business life where one needs to re-invent oneself, blow out the cobwebs and put a coat of fresh paint on the ole’ shack.

I’ve done that this year.  Gone is Emerald Bay Photography… and in its place has risen Simone Paddock Photography!logo transition Transitions

Why, may you ask, would I change a name and brand I’ve worked so hard to build and establish over the past 8 years?  Easy. It just wasn’t *me* anymore. Nothing about the name represented what I was about, what my photography stood for. Too often was I confused for either having been previously located in Lake Tahoe (which sports the famous and beautiful Emerald Bay as one of its main attractions) , or as a landscape photographer. Both of which are about a far away from the truth as one can get.

So I needed a rehaul. But I didn’t do it alone! Most instrumental in the process was my wonderful business coach Dave Luke who helped me refine my mission and vision, and put me on my path of thinking bigger and beyond the confines of the day-to-day grind. A host of loyal friends (most of them professionals in the creative field) gave me their feedback on the new business name/URL. The talented Bethany Kroeker is responsible for my slick new logo, and the utterly amazing Lynn Wenger at Prodigy helped bring this shiny new website into existence.

To all of them I am deeply indebted, and I hope to be able to share the resulting fruits of their labor with them in the New Year.

To all my loyal readers, clients and friends – thank you for your support this year, and Happy Holidays!

Aw, this was a very nice post. In thought I want to put in writing like this additionally – taking time and precise effort to make a very good article… but what can I say… I procrastinate alot and not at all seem to get one thing done.

Hmmm… not sure what the problem with the feed could be. Can’t seem to replicate the problem. :( Maybe stay in touch via the SPP Facebook page instead? I update that one all the time. Thanks for reading and commenting!
